WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD:  We believe that there is only one living and true God, infinite in every excellence; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three distinct persons‑‑The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit‑‑yet one in substance and equal in every divine perfection. (Exodus 20:2-31 Corinthians 8:61 John 5:7)

The Father: We believe in one God; Who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 1:17; 1 John 4:4; James 1:17)

The Son: We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Saviour of mankind. We believe Jesus Christ to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was virgin-born, that He was God incarnate, and that the purposes of the incarnation were to reveal God, to redeem men, and to rule over God's kingdom.  We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, at the end of which He was offered for all mankind as a substitutionary sacrifice for man's sin. We believe He ascended into Heaven after His resurrection to be seated at the right hand of the Father and is now waiting for the time of receiving His church at the rapture, which is followed by His return seven years later to earth to rule and reign as King for 1,000 years. (Psalm 2:7-9; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, 43:11; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1, 3, 14, 18, 29; Romans 3:19-25, 5:6-15; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Timothy 2:5, 3:16; Titus 2:10-15; Hebrews 7:26, 9:24-28; 1 Peter 1:19, 2:2; 1 John 1:3; Revelation 20:1-6)

The Holy Spirit:  We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with the Father and the Son, and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the truth, is the Agent of the new birth, and that He seals, guides, teaches, sanctifies, and helps the believer, indwelling every true child of God. (John 14:16-17; Acts 11:16;  Romans 8:14-27; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:13-14)

SIN & SALVATION: We believe all men were born with an inherited sin nature received from our common ancestor, Adam. We believe that because of his nature, man is a sinner by choice, and he is totally incapable of reforming himself or ceasing from his sin by his own power. We believe the only hope of deliverance for man is turning to Jesus Christ in faith as the only means of salvation.  We believe that only through the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ on the cross can a man be delivered from his sin. We believe that all those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour are already condemned to an eternity in the lake of fire. (Genesis 5:1-5; Acts 4:19, 16:31; Romans 3:10-23, 5:6-12, 6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-6; Revelation 20:11-14)

THE SECURITY OF THE SAINTS: We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by God the Father until the day of redemption. (John 10:28-29Philippians 1:6Jude 1:24)

THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH: We believe that the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe the church is a local body which is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ, and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and communion. The church is the mechanism for this age to reach lost souls. We believe all true believers will be taken up at the rapture, just prior to the tribulation. (Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 1:15, 2:41-43, 11:15, 20:28; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; Ephesians 1:12-14, 5:25-30; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Timothy 3:1-15)

BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a born again believer, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the local new testament Baptist church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord's supper, in which the members of the local church, by the sacred use of unleavened bread and the unfermented fruit of the vine are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe that communion is the Lord's Supper. It is a memorial of the death of Christ; it is not a sacrament nor has any saving power. Only those who have been saved through faith in Christ's atoning blood, biblically baptized, and who are members of this local church that are walking in obedient fellowship with Him ought to partake of it. We believe that there is only one form of scriptural baptism. (Matthew 3:6, 16, 28:19-20; John 3:23; Acts 1:5, 2:41-47; 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 10:17-18, 21, 11:17-34, 12:12-13; Colossians 1:18, 2:12)

SEPARATION: We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord. God commands His people to separate from all worldly and sinful pleasures and practices. (Leviticus 19:28; Romans 12:1-2; 14:13; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11)

MISSIONS: It is through the institution of the local church that the Lord supports mission endeavors. We collectively give money for missions, pray for missions, and do all we humanly can to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Luke 10:2; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 10:15-16)

HEAVEN: We believe in a real, literal heaven ‑ a place of bliss and blessedness to which the righteous (saved) go and in which they will forever consciously enjoy God and His presence. (John 14:2-32 Corinthians 12:2Colossians 1:5Hebrews 11:16, 12:22-231 Peter 1:3-5Revelation 21:2)

THE DEVIL OR SATAN: We believe in the distinct personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age and present world, author of all powers of darkness and sin, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the lake of fire. (Matthew 4:1, 32 Corinthians 4:4Revelation. 20:10)

HELL: We believe in a real, literal hell ‑ a place of torment to which the wicked (unsaved) go and in which they will forever consciously experience punishment and banishment from the presence of the Lord. (Matthew 5:22, 10:28, 23:1533Mark 9:434547Luke 12:5James 3:6Revelation. 19:2020:10141521:8)

CREATION: We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, each after its own kind, by direct act and not by the process of evolution. We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the gap theory, the day-age theory, theistic evolution, and intelligent design not attributed to God as unscriptural theories of origin. (Genesis 1:1-2:50John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17)

THE LAST DAYS: We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context. We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church saints, followed by the seven-year tribulation. We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth and His literal rule of 1,000 years. Following this one-thousand-year reign is the Great White Throne judgment and then the new heaven and new earth. (1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 5:1-9; Revelation 19-22)
